Mixing bioresins with pigments and inks, found objects and mixed media, Amanda creates flowing shapes and colours. Recent work includes found non-recyclable plastics, such as films and nets, to draw attention to the condition of the world's oceans.
Bioresin (Super Sap) is produced using renewable, plant-based carbon, from co-products and waste products of industrial food processes. Amanda lives and works in Herefordshire, and her work is often "inspired by this stunningly beautiful and rural county... It is more ancient than human beings, and it needs our understanding, our respect and our protection." Amanda is "also inspired by the age old cycles of growth, decline renewal - that nothing is perfect, nothing lasts, and nothing is ever finished." |
