Workshops in Spring 2019:
Watercolour Painting with Jane Keay 2nd & 23rd February 2019 JANE KEAY is a professional artist and illustrator, and has tutored students of all ages and abilities, sharing her experience and enthusiasm. She specialises in watercolours and inks, and exhibits regularly both locally and nationally. She has lived in, and painted, the borderlands for over thirty five years, and her work is strongly influenced by the landscapes and moods of the local countryside.
SATURDAY 2ND FEBRUARY, 10am – 4pm BASIC WATERCOLOUR TECHNIQUES: The day will be spent concentrating on basic techniques of using watercolours, to include single washes, wash on wash, using wet on wet, and wet on dry techniques, creating colours by layering, use of brushes, sponging, scraping out, resist techniques. There will be demonstrations, group work, and lots of individual tuition, plus giving support to individual problem solving, and answering questions during the day, easy to follow tips and techniques which would lead to having more confidence in using this often misunderstood medium.
SATURDAY 23RD FEBRUARY, 10am – 4pm EXTENDED WATERCOLOUR TECHNIQUES: The day will be run as a group session with demonstration followed by students following the techniques shown, and by the end of the day, creating a complete piece, based on the tuition, but individually created, There will be individual tuition between the demonstrations to enable each student to create something that is of their very own making ready for framing £45 per day, or both days for £85
