Art, Heritage and Nature Walk
Rebecca Finney
This walk is one of 6 routes described in a booklet - Six Great Walks around Kington - produced by Kington Walks and available free from the Walking Hub just opposite the Market Hall, the Burton Hotel, the Tourist Information Centre and the Made in the Marches Gallery.
The aim of the booklet is to promote Kington town and its environs to both locals and visitors as an enjoyable place to experience the physical and spiritual benefits of exploration on foot.
The six walks have each been adopted by local businesses. This walk, number 6, is sponsored by our gallery - a community arts advocate. This walk traces the history of Kington's Mills and Weirs and also hosts many inspiring sites of art, craft, natural beauty and cultural skill.
Our hope is that this map will encourage more people to walk this path and build a community of participants who will share their experiences of, and engagements with, this "Art, Heritage and Nature Walk". Our dream is to provide the environment for more creativity, walking, mapping, making, collaborating and celebration.
