Community Mandala
Come and help create a giant colourful community mandala. For those who like to work smaller, there will also be individual mandalas to colour in and take away. Mandalas have been traced back to Buddhist monks travelling throughout Asia from the 1st century BC, and by the 4th century they were found in China, Tibet and Japan, and started to be used in other religions too. The mandala is seen as the perfect form of the universe, and when creating a mandala, the centre is seen as the beginning of an individual's path to knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment. Often mandalas are used to aid meditation, mindfulness and wellbeing.
