We got engaged in late November 2021, while on a trip to Liverpool (there was supposed to be a Red Snapper gig, but Covid). We stayed in The Owl House, in Hightown. It was COLD, we layered our socks and dressing gowns, and ate takeaway curry.
We decided to have a fairly short engagement. Summer 2022 would be the 10 year anniversary of when we met, so it seemed perfect, and eight months sounded like plenty of time to arrange everything... Pictures of some of the projects we created for ourselves can be found further down this page, but we'll jump forward in time to the last week of July:
The final week: Just a couple of things left on the 'to do' list...
Thanks to Charlie and Pete for hooking up light and power supplies, for lugging stuff around... to Charlotte for hanging miles of bunting and fairy lights, to Judy for so much more than feeding everyone, and to the whole extended family for diving in with so much energy and not a grumble to be heard! To dad, for your time and energy in the final few days, and for all that shopping! To mum and Jeb for, allowing this crazy takeover of your home and seemingly taking the whole thing in your stride! To Katie, my hero of a sister, words cannot express my thanks for all that you did!
Not a Rehearsal, just a lovely night of performances from friends and family
