Stephanie’s interest in ceramics came from her
training as a ceramic restorer. She broadened her
knowledge through classes in pottery and decorative
finishes. For a few years she ran a design company
mainly specialising in mirrors and decorative
household items. Harrods and Jane Churchill were
amongst her customers. She also ran classes in
plaster casting, gilding and paint finishes and is the
author of the book Creative Plasterwork. She has
since returned to her work as a restorer and uses her
love of clay to make beautiful dishes, decorating them
using gilding and variety of other techniques.
Mainly using paper clay, she gets her inspiration from
nature, forming shapes that are organically based.
Believing that nature produces wonderful shapes and
forms, she has begun to add moulds of seed heads
taken from plants and trees, thus emphasising the
natural feel of her work.
PLEASE NOTE HER WORK IS FOR DECORATIVE USE ONLY.
